Rating: *** 1/4 [Kane interfered against Steve Austin.] Click here to see highlights. Despite attempted interference by Kane, Stone Cold overcame the odds and beat Shawn Michaels. He will now face Batista at No Mercy for the last spot on the Taboo Tuesday WWE Title Ballot. Card rating: *** 1/4 Match observations: The rejuvination of Stone Cold Steve Austin's career is almost complete. After overcoming Kane and now Shawn Michaels, he is just one match away from a place on the Taboo Tuesday WWE Title ballot. The only problem is that the one match will be against Batista, Evolution's animal, who is on a great run as of late. Who will prevail, and who will the fans side with, in a match between two top superstars that they love to hate. With No Mercy just a few days away, a new face has popped up with regards to the WWE title picture, that being Edge. It seems that getting Val Venis out of the way will truly allow him to concentrate on his goal of being the Champion. However, Edge will have to wait his turn, as Christian will looking to take the gold on Sunday, and by getting a pinfall over Triple H here tonight, he proved that he deserves to be in the main event. Let's just hope that Helmsley keeps his nose out of the match on Sunday. He should have his hands full with Terry Funk, but sometimes you never know what to expect from The Game. While it was set up out of spite by Shane McMahon, the match between Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas on Sunday should be one to watch, and the victor will be in with a shot at an IC title match at Taboo Tuesday, as will the winner of the 20 Man Battle Royal. Rumour has it that John Cena will go on the ballot as well, if he gets by Ric Flair on Sunday. But who will be the IC Champ come Taboo Tuesday? There's now three men in the fray for that belt, Cactus Jack the reigning champ, and his challengers, JBL and Masahiro Chono. The match on Sunday should be both brutal and entertaining for everyone involved. No Mercy is just around the corner, followed very swiftly by Taboo Tuesday, so expect plenty of fireworks in just a short period of time. Next Show: No Mercy
