In a surprise start to the night, the Basham Brothers managed to upend the
previously dominant New Rockers to once again become the tag team champions.

Shane O Mac reveals a new match for Survivor Series, and books the main event
for the evening.


No-Countout-No-DQ-Match:
Ultimo Dragon defeated X-Pac when X-Pac passed out in the Dragon Sleeper in
           0:08:58.

Not as good as their previous meeting, but at least we got a winner this time
around.


Chris Jericho pinned Funaki after an Asai moonsault in 0:13:26.

(Chris Jericho retained the WWE Intercontinental Championship.)

Despite repeated attempts at interference by Scott Steiner, Jericho was able
to get the win and retain the belt.

Jericho mocks Steiner's right to be the Number 1 contender to the IC belt, thus
prompting Big Poppa Pump to set up a match for Smackdown, in which he can prove
his status as a contender.


Elimination Match:
Rey Mysterio, Tajiri and Hurricane Helms beat
Matt Hardy, Shannon Moore and Brian Kendrick 3 falls to 1:
         x Hurricane beat Moore via the Eye of the Hurricane in 0:09:14

Rey Mysterio and Tajiri proved to be the final two survivors in this match
here tonight.  But when the Survivor Series comes, only one man can be left
standing, and he will be the Cruiserweight Champion.

Shawn Michaels, Booker T and The New Rockers will be joined at Survivor Series
by The Rock!


Scott Hall pinned The Rock with the Outsider Edge in 0:09:27.

In a surprising twist, Scott Hall was able to defeat the Rock.  How does this
bode for Team WWE at the Survivor Series?


nWo (Goldberg, Hollywood Hogan and Randy Orton) defeated
Chris Benoit, Shane McMahon and Triple H when Orton pinned HHH with the RKO in
           0:20:29.

The nWo were victorious, as the RKO proved to be enough to put down Triple H.

Match observations: 

A few intriguing twists took place tonight, as we move ever closer to the 
Survivor Series.  It was revealed that the Rock will be taking the fifth spot
on the WWE vs nWo elimination match, and we also had a tag team title triangle
match added to the card, after the Basham Brothers were finally able to end
the impressive reign of the New Rockers.

Tonight's main event saw a possible preview of what may happen at the PPV, as
Randy Orton pinned Triple H with his RKO.  Has Orton finally learned enough
to take out the man who once took him under his wing.  In less than seven days,
we may well have an answer to that question.

We know that Steiner versus Jericho will take place at Survivor Series, but
unless Big Poppa Pump can make Funaki tap out this Thursday, the IC title will
not be on the line for the match.  Does Jericho have something up his sleeve
to ensure that he doesn't get the title shot, or will he be hoping that the
genetic freak gets the victory?

After The Rock returned tonight, it's been announced that also this Thursday
on Smackdown, we'll see him team with HBK to take out the Outsiders, Hall and
Nash.  The People's Champ will be looking to avenge his defeat against Hall 
here tonight.  Also related to the WWE vs nWo match, Booker T will face off
against Ted DiBiase.

Lastly, it's also be announced that there will be one other Survivor Series
style match at this years PPV.  The participants for the match will all be
revealed on Smackdown.
