Benoit fought hard to get a rematch, but in the end it was Vader who won the match, and will go on to face Stone Cold at Judgment Day. Card rating: *** 1/4 Match observations: So at Judgment Day, Stone Cold Steve Austin will make his first defence of the WWE Championship against Vader. Austin can be lifted by the fact that it was Vader whom he defeated to earn his shot against Chris Benoit originally, but since then, the Mastadon has been on a path of rage, which he will attempt to bring to the boil by gaining revenge on the Champion. We saw two big returns tonight, the first being Hollywood Hogan, who made his comeback from injury to confront Ted DiBiase. Hogan seems to have turned over a new leaf since we last saw him, and he'll apparently square off against the Million Dollar Man in singles action at Judgment Day. Whether we can actually trust Hogan remains to be seen. The other return was from Ric Flair, who came close to winning the tag titles with Batista here tonight. As Triple H said, Evolution is back together, and who knows what kind of impact they can make in the near future, whether they have gold or not. The team that defeated Flair and Batista tonight, Cactus Jack and Shawn Michaels, will have their hands full at Judgment Day, when they face La Resistance, who won the tag team battle royal tonight. Grenier and Rob Conway were supposed to get a shot at the belts just a few weeks ago, but missed out due to the Dudleys. Grenier and Rene Dupree have no intention of making the same mistake.
