After the match, Triple H was left cursing his luck at his failure to win the title. Card rating: *** 3/4 Match observations: It was a night of shocks and surprises here tonight at Unforgiven. New tag team and intercontinental champions were crowned, while Chris Benoit was able to withstand the pressure of the Evolution triple threat in order to retain the WWE title. But heaven only knows what Shane McMahon will announce as the main event for the next show, with him winning the right to the name the No Mercy main event, after he beat Terry Funk here tonight. It was definitely a night for the underdogs here tonight, as Kane finally got a victory over his brother, The Undertaker, and Randy Orton was able to get a second pinfall victory over The Rock. Maybe it'll be the Big Red Machine or Mr. RKO that is named Benoit's next challenger tomorrow. We also got a new Cruiserweight Champion here tonight, with Rey Mysterio once again taking the gold. However, it was not without the help of one Stone Cold Steve Austin in Mysterio's corner, who provided enough distractions to make sure that Tajiri could not win the gold. Ken Shamrock continued on his roll by making Kurt Angle tap out to the Ankle Lock here tonight, while we also saw another submission victory in the monsters match between Big Show and Brock Lesnar, as Lesnar passed out in a bearhug. As Batista got a big victory over Chris Jericho also, it would seem that there are a number of folks looking to step in line against Chris Benoit. We'll just all have to wait till tomorrow night to find out who it will be. Next Show: Raw
