(Following the initial introductions to the show, Shane McMahon makes his way
to ringside, ready for his hardcore match.  He takes a mic from ringside. )

Shane McMahon:
So it seems as though the board of directors has hit me with a double surprise
at the start of the night.  Not only have they informed me that my match with
Terry Funk is going to be the opening contest this evening, but they've also
added an additional stipulation.  The winner of this match will, tomorrow night
on Raw, be allowed to announce the main event for No Mercy.  And the main event
that is chosen will stick.  There will be no added stipulations as the weeks
go by, whatever is chosen will happen.  

So Terry Funk, bring your ass out here, so that we can get this over and done
with, and I can plan for the main event announcement tomorrow night.
