The nWo was defeated here, despite a large amount of interference by Steven Richards, who was attempting to make life for Shawn Michaels a living hell. Click here to see highlights. Chris Benoit gave it his absolute all, but could not manage to take the title from Goldberg. The nWo celebrated their champion's victory, as the show went off the air. Card rating: **** Match observations: So, despite the set-back in the 10 man tag team match, it really was the nWo's night once again. Goldberg successfully retained the WWE title against Chris Benoit, while Hollywood Hogan was able to defeat Shane McMahon, thus giving the New World Order control of the book in WWE. What will their first order of business be come tomorrow night on Raw? Expect the first three targets to be Shawn Michaels, Booker T and Al Snow, who were the three survivors in the WWE vs nWo 10 man match here tonight. Michaels might already have his own problems with Steven Richards though, who proved to be somewhat of a thorn in HBK's side during the match tonight, although some of his interfering tactics left a little to be desired. Another likelihood is that Scott Steiner will be rushed into a rematch against Chris Jericho, after their match ended in a double count-out tonight. If Hogan wants the Intercontinental Title in the nWo, Steiner seems to be the man most likely to take it from Y2J. Also, expect the new tag champions Bret Hart and Stone Cold Steve Austin to be targeted in the near future. Those two couldn't get along at the very best of times, so the nWo will be looking to exploit the pressure put on them as tag champs, and therefore steal the belts away from them. What's next for Randy Orton and Triple H? Despite Orton's loss here tonight, he had the last laugh by nailing The Game with the ring bell. Will Helmsley be looking for revenge, or will the Legend Killer go on the attack once again? And finally, why did Tajiri so brutally attack Rey Mysterio after the 6 man Cruiserweight match here tonight? We may well find out on Raw! Next Show: Raw
