Hogan provided a surprise, as he returned in the Black and White Hollywood
colours.  However, even he could not stop the charge of the Game.  Triple H
will now face Goldberg in the semi final.

Chris Jericho pinned Jeff Jarrett after an Asai moonsault in 0:01:12.

Jericho got a surprisingly quick win over the former champion to advance.

Steve Austin pinned Ken Shamrock with the Stone Cold Stunner in 0:22:37.

Great match, which saw Austin almost get put out by the Ankle Lock, only to
come back and hit the Stunner for the win.  However, his semi final opponent,
Chris Jericho, will be a lot fresher when it comes time to fight.

Goldberg pinned Triple H with the Jackhammer in 0:00:35.

Goldberg squashed Helmsley in just 35 seconds, moving on to the final.

Jericho's freshness told, as he was able to get the victory over Austin.  Now
it's done to Jericho and Goldberg in the final.

Goldberg finished off Jericho to become the number 1 contender.  It's Rock
versus Goldberg at No Mercy!

Match observations: 

So, after his less than disappointing showing at Unforgiven, Goldberg has once
again risen to the top, by defeating the Undertaker, Triple H and Chris Jericho
all in one night, to become the number 1 contender to the WWE title.  In just
a few weeks time, it'll be The Rock versus Goldberg, with the title on the line
at No Mercy.  Who will come out victorious?

Also tonight, we saw the return of Hollywood Hogan.  Casting aside the red and
yellow that he wore so proudly a few months back, Hogan is now back in black
and white.  We may find out why on Raw, when Hogan will be Chris Jericho's very
special guest on the Highlight Reel.
