Card Information: Held in: PITTSBURGH CIVIC CENTER Location: PITTSBURGH, PENNSLYVANIA, UNITED STATES on October 2004 at 9:00pm Interview: Jericho wants Lesnar... Click here to see highlights. Chris Jericho challenges Brock Lesnar to a match tonight. Lesnar accepts, but announces that the match will be no DQ and no Count Out. nWo (Jeff Jarrett and X-Pac) defeated Randy Savage and The Undertaker when X-Pac defeated Undertaker by countout in 0:13:27. Rating: *** [Goldberg interfered against The Undertaker.] In an amazing, and quite clearly shocking situation, it would appear that Goldberg has joined the nWo. He came to ringside, and then hit the Jackhammer on the Undertaker, thus causing a count-out. This new twist makes the main event of the evening seem rather unusual, as Goldberg is set to take on Scott Steiner in a steel cage match. Will the two nWo members still continue with this fight, or will changes need to be made? Rey Mysterio, Tajiri and Hurricane Helms defeated Jamie Noble, Brian Kendrick and Ultimo Dragon when Tajiri pinned U. Dragon with the Stiff kick to the head in 0:06:21. Rating: **** 1/4 Fantastic tag team match, made more notable due to Hurricane Helms' attempts to remove the mask of Ultimo Dragon. These two have now been signed up for a singles match at No Mercy. Interview: Triple H makes his decision... Click here to see highlights. Triple H refuses to join the nWo, which leads to an impromptu tag match. Evolution (Randy Orton and Triple H) defeated The Outsiders when HHH pinned Hall with the Pedigree in 0:07:23. Rating: *** 1/4 Big win for Triple H and Randy Orton over the Outsiders. During the match, it was announced that Hunter would face X-Pac at No Mercy, a match that had been provisionally signed up by the nWo, in case Hunter refused their offer. Steve Austin pinned Matt Hardy with the Stone Cold Stunner in 0:10:25. Rating: *** 1/2 [Chris Benoit interfered against Matt Hardy.] After the match, Benoit re-enters the ring and puts Matt Hardy in the Crippler Crossface. However, Austin then pulls the IC champion off Hardy and delivers a Stunner. Interview: The Rock reacts to the challenger... Click here to see highlights. The Rock makes comments on Goldberg's decision to join the nWo. No-Countout-No-DQ-Match: Brock Lesnar pinned Chris Jericho after hitting him with the guardrail in 0:06:04. Rating: ** 3/4 [Jeff Jarrett interfered against Chris Jericho.] Click here to see highlights. With the help of the nWo, Brock Lesnar was able to get a victory over Y2J. No-Countout-No-DQ-Cage Match: Scott Steiner defeated Goldberg by escaping the cage in 0:20:56. Rating: *** 1/4 Click here to see highlights. In the spirit of friendly competition, the nWo decided that both Goldberg and Steiner would be able to compete against one another. Steiner won the match, but afterwards shook hands and hugged Goldberg. This brought the Rock down to the ring, who tried to get to Goldberg, but only ended up getting beaten down by the rest of the nWo at ringside. The evening ended with Rock being spray-painted with the nWo logo. Card rating: *** 1/4 Match observations: Well, who would have thought it, Goldberg a member of the nWo? It's a turn that came so far out of the blue that even Nostradamus wouldn't have seen it coming. This adds extra fuel to the main event for No Mercy, because it will now be a WWE vs nWo match-up. Of course, if Goldberg does win the title, it won't be that bad, as we know that the winner must face Chris Benoit at the Survivor Series. Speaking of Benoit, after the events of tonight's Steve Austin vs Matt Hardy match, it has now been announced that the IC title match at No Mercy will be a three way match, with Stone Cold added into the mix. This should prove to be a rather interesting contest now, even more so than before. The involvement of the nWo here tonight cost Chris Jericho his chance to defeat Brock Lesnar, who was wrestling his first match back in the company. However, when the match was over, the nWo walked away from Jericho, prefering to wait for No Mercy to try and finish the job on Y2J. As mentioned earlier, Triple H will take on X-Pac at No Mercy, following his refusal to join the nWo earlier tonight. Additionally, there is now a six man tag team match signed for Smackdown, with Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista taking on Hall, Nash and X-Pac. This will be contested under elimination rules and therefore should be a hell of a contest. Next Show: Smackdown
