(To a great reaction from the fans, Chris Jericho makes his way down to the
ring and grabs a mic.)

Chris Jericho:
At Survivor Series, I will be facing Scott Steiner of the nWo.  But the reason
that I'm out here goes far beyond Scott Steiner.  You see, the nWo is doing
exactly what Hogan said it was going to do, and that is take over.  Sure, some
of our guys, like the New Rockers, are beating them, but it's just not enough,
because they will keep coming back.

Now, they're looking to get to Shane McMahon, and take total control of this
company.  Some of the guys in the back might just stand idly back and let them
do this, but I for one, am not prepared to see the WWE I know and love, and 
it's fans, who have cheered or booed me with all their hearts, treated like
dirt by a bunch on ingrates who think that they're better than this business.

So I urge each and every superstar in the locker room, who is not affiliated
with the nWo to stand up, and fight for what you believe in, to fight for the
WWE, and all of its fans.  To fight against the nWo, and stop them from maybe
ruining the careers of anyone who isn't one of their "boys".  Stand up, and
unite with me to take back WWE for those that truly live it, and love it.

(Jericho receives a tremendous cheer for these remarks, only for it to be 
interrupted by the music of Matt Hardy.)

Matt Hardy:
That was a great speech, Jericho, real great.  Only problem was that it fell
on deaf ears.  The nWo?  Big deal.  Scott Steiner?  He's nothing.  Hell, I 
beat him last week, and unless you're a total idiot, you shouldn't have any
trouble...no wait, you are a total idiot, Jericho.

If the WWE needed a leader against the "threat" of the nWo, they wouldn't pick
you.  They'd pick a guy who had what it took to lead, a man with that special
something else, a man with Mattitude.  Matt Hardy Version 1.  The one and only
true Intercontinental Champion, in WWE.

Chris Jericho:
Oh is that so?  Matt Hardy Version 1?  More like Matt Hardy Version Jackass.
If you don't care that the nWo is going to ruin this company, then you've got
no business representing the company as Intercontinental Champion.

Matt Hardy:
Are you saying I'm not a worthy champion?  How about I come down there and 
prove to you that I am?

Chris Jericho:
Well, that's what I was hoping you would do.  But just one thing, junior, if
you wanna prove yourself, then that belt of yours has to be on the line.

Matt Hardy:
You got it, now ring the damn bell.
