(The Intercontinental Champion, Chris Benoit makes his way down to ringside
and grabs a microphone.)

Chris Benoit:
For months, I have proved that I am the greatest Intercontinental Champion of
all time.  Just a few weeks ago, I defeated Goldberg in just 71 seconds.  And
yet what did I see on Smackdown last week?  I saw Goldberg entered into, and
winning a tournament to get a WWE title shot.  I was not even invited to be in
that tournament, and yet I know I am better than the man who won it.

So Shane McMahon, I suggest that you bring your ass out here, correct your
mistake, and name me the number 1 contender to the WWE Championship for No
Mercy.

(Shane McMahon's music hits, and he makes his way down to ringside.)

Shane McMahon:
Chris, I appreciate that you're upset for not being entered in the tournament,
but I have other plans for you.  At this current moment in time Chris, you will
be getting a shot at the WWE Championship, and it will be at Survivor Series,
against the winner of the Rock vs Goldberg match.  And if you've still got that
Intercontinental Title of yours at the time, it may well even be title for
title.

As far as No Mercy is concerned, I've got plans for you.  Right here tonight,
six of the greatest superstars in the WWE will enter a special six pack
challenge, with the eventual winner getting a shot at the Intercontinental
Championship at No Mercy.

But until then Chris, there are other things to plan for, and other things to
worry about.  Big things, Chris.  And I wanna know that I can count on you 
when they come.  Don't let me down.
