Seemingly out of nowhere, Jeff Hardy was able to roll up Rey Mysterio to win
the Cruiserweight Title. Although disappointed that he didn't get the belt,
Matt congratulated his brother on the title win.

Vader showed supreme agility to beat Chono with a flying bodypress, after
Chono had previously kicked out from the Vader Bomb. Although Vader picked
up the win here tonight, don't be surprised if this issue is from being over.

Pedigree in 0:24:40.

With Charles Robinson left out cold, Nick Patrick ran in to count the fall for
Triple H. Although the debates will rage on, this surely determines that one
Hunter Hearst Helmsley is the icon of attitude.

A very disappointing main event, which saw Chris Jericho come down and cost
Benoit the match, and the title by attacking Randy Orton with a steel chair.
Card rating: *** 1/4
Match observations:
After a rather good PPV, the main event proved to be somewhat of a letdown.
Benoit certainly tried his hardest to put out Randy Orton, but his efforts
were left to mean nothing, after Chris Jericho ran to ringside and attacked
the WWE Champion with a steel chair for no apparent reason, and cost his some
time tag team partner the match. Benoit didn't appear to be angry with Y2J
for his actions, but he didn't exactly seemed thrilled with the result either.
Someone else who wouldn't be thrilled with his result was Hollywood Hogan, who
was finally put out of the WWE by Shane McMahon, after losing the Stretcher
Match here tonight. McMahon, on the other hand, was said to be in a very good
mood, and is planning to make some big matches tomorrow night in celebration
of his win.
The only title that changed hands tonight (after Orton, Chris Daniels and the
team of HBK and Cactus Jack retained theirs) was the Cruiserweight Title. In
the special tag match that saw the gold on the line, Jeff Hardy rolled up Rey
Mysterio to become the new champion. Hardy's first challenger will be Dean
Malenko, after the Man of 1000 Holds won the 6-way match tonight. It's unsure
as of yet whether that match will take place tomorrow night, or be held back
for Summerslam. Either way, it should be one to watch.
Vader got a big win over Masahiro Chono tonight, but I would expect Chono to
be looking for a rematch as soon as possible. That being said, Vader's win
tonight was clean, and rather special, with him using a flying bodypress to
get the three. Chono's rematch hopes are purely for reasons of pride.
And perhaps it was pride that prevented Edge from shaking Val Venis' hand here
tonight. Or does he have something to hide? We'll hope to get some truth out
of him before too long. Still, it seems we'd be more likely to see William
Regal win a match fairly, something which he failed to do tonight against his
opponent Eddie Gurerrero. Eddie is on quite the losing streak since returning,
and may well want to battle some opponents other than Regal to turn his luck
around.
Finally, the rumour going around the locker room is that Triple H's win tonight
will see him named as the number 1 contender to the title for Summerslam. Is
it going be Orton vs Triple H once again? Tune in tomorrow to find out.
