Chris Jericho challenges Christopher Daniels to a death match for Vengeance. The Hardy Boyz (Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy) and Chris Benoit defeated Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman when J. Hardy pinned Rey Rey after a flying clothesline in 0:14:45. Rating: **** Click here to see highlights. Excellent main event, which saw Jeff Hardy get a pin over the cruiserweight champion. With the match over, Benoit and Orton continued to brawl until after Smackdown went off the air. Card rating: *** 1/2 Match observations: Due to technical difficulties, scheduled interviews with Shane McMahon and Eddie Guerrero were unable to be broadcast here tonight. McMahon will make his address this Monday night on Raw, while Guerrero's interview was expected to see him challenge William Regal to a hardcore rules match at Vengeance. As a result, this match has officially been signed for the PPV. Also signed for Vengeance is what should be a very interesting match between Vader and Masahiro Chono. After Chono finished his business with Brock Lesnar here tonight, the powerhouse was confronted by Vader, who seemingly challenged Chono right there and then. Expect these two to be involved in a real slugfest when the PPV comes about. Jeff Hardy staked his claim for a shot at the Cruiserweight Title by pinning the champion here tonight. It's expected that a match for the gold will be announced on Raw this Monday. And speaking of gold, we can confirm that the challenge extended by Chris Jericho here tonight has been accepted by the WWE Intercontinental Champion, Christopher Daniels. These two will square off in a Death Match at Vengeance, where the first man to score three consecutive falls on his opponent is declared the winner. This Monday on Raw, Val Venis and Rico will challenge for the tag team titles. You do have to wonder what happened to Edge, though, as he was meant to be the partner of Val Venis tonight, but did not make it to the arena. Next Show: Raw
