Raw

Card Information: Held in: ARROWHEAD POND Location: CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES on September 2004 at 9:00pm Interview: Chamber participants... Click here to see highlights. The six superstars that will enter the Elimination Chamber engage in a war of words. Evolution (Batista and Randy Orton) defeated The New Rockers when Orton pinned Jannetty after a flying cross body press in 0:11:19. Rating: ** 1/4 Jannetty was the one getting pinned this time, but he still seemed disappointed with Al Snow for not attempting a save. Evolution prove that they're ready to take the tag titles from the Bashams. Match with Special Referee Brian Kendrick: Rey Mysterio pinned Ultimo Dragon with the West Coast Pop in 0:11:46. Rating: **** 1/4 As Rey headed to the back celebrating his victory, Kendrick attempted to go after a downed Ultimo Dragon. However, Dragon fought back and ended up locking in the Dragon Sleeper on the Cruiserweight Champ. However, Dragon's joy didn't last long, as Kane rushed to ringside and gave him a choke slam. Interview: The IC Champ speaks on Goldberg... Click here to see highlights. Chris Benoit intends on going it alone against Goldberg at Unforgiven, giving Paul Heyman the night off for the Pay Per View. Match with Managers Banned From Ringside: Goldberg defeated Jamie Noble via pinfall in 0:14:35. Rating: **** 1/4 The streak increases to 5 and 0, with a big win for Goldberg. Interview: Possibly the last ever Highlight Reel... Click here to see highlights. Jericho interviews the Mountie, who goes on to attack an uninvited Ken Shamrock with the Cattle Prod. Eddie Guerrero and Christian and Edge and Kurt Angle battled to a double countout in 0:03:47. Rating: ** 3/4 A short match, though fairly good while it lasted. At Unforgiven, Edge will face Eddie, while Christian goes one on one with Angle. Rob Van Dam pinned Kevin Nash with the Five Star Frog Splash in 0:10:59. Rating: *** 3/4 A fine match, with RVD coming out as the victor. No-Countout-No-DQ-Triangle Match: The Undertaker and The Big Show defeated Triple H and Jeff Jarrett and Steve Austin and The Rock: x HHH beat Rock via a small package in 0:12:18 x Undertaker beat Jarrett via the Choke Slam in 0:30:04 Rating: *** Click here to see highlights. Big Show attacked Undertaker almost immediately after the match. He tried to set up the Taker for a Showstopper, but Taker grabbed Show in a choke of his own. As both men attempted to gain the upper hand, the Rock and Stone Cold ran down to ringside. Austin nailed Big Show with a stunner, while Rock hit a Rock Bottom on the Taker. Rock and Austin then went nose to nose, before they were both suddenly attacked from behind by Batista and Randy Orton, who were both carrying steel chairs. Following this, the two Evolution members picked up Triple H, who then gave a Pedigree to the already groggy Jeff Jarrett. As Raw went off the air, the Game and his associates were the only ones left standing. Card rating: *** 1/2 Match observations: So Triple H was left standing, while all his foes lay around him. One would think the Game would be odds on for the Elimination Chamber, but we'll reserve judgement until this Thursday, when he teams with Jarrett and the Big Show in a 6 man elimination tag match, against Rock, Austin and Undertaker. It will be interesting to see how both teams are able to co-exist, especially so close to Unforgiven. With the streak at 5 and 0, it seems more and more likely that Goldberg will be leaving Unforgiven the IC Champion. Surely Chris Benoit is making a huge mistake giving Paul Heyman the night off, but we'll find out whether the Rabid Wolverine has an ace up his sleeve at the Pay Per View. Only one more match slot is left to be filled for the show, and it'll have to be something, considering the pretty stacked line-up that has already been announced. Other matches to report for this Thursday on Smackdown are Chris Jericho and The Mountie against Ken Shamrock and Roddy Piper, as well as an interesting contest featuring Kane against Ultimo Dragon. We may well see Brian Kendrick show up during that match, but hopefully not as a referee, after his rather poor showing tonight. Next Show: Smackdown
