(As Smackdown comes on the air, Triple H makes his way down to ringside, along
with Ric Flair. )

Triple H:
Chris Benoit, last Monday night on Raw, you showed the world that you didn't
have wait it take to beat the Nature Boy. Ric Flair showed the world that he
could beat the so-called World Champion with ease. And at Unforgiven, Benoit,
you're gonna have that losing feeling all over again. But you know, you don't
have to wait until Unforgiven for that, because Shane McMahon has provided us
with the chance to give it to you all over again.

Tonight, Benoit, it's gonna be you going up against the Nature Boy once again,
but it's not a one on one match like it was on Monday, this is going to be a
2-on-1 Handicap Match. And in case you hadn't guessed it, Ric's partner in
that match, is gonna be me!

Tonight, Benoit, I'm gonna do to you just a little bit of what I'm gonna do to
you at Unforgiven. If last Monday night didn't worry you about your future as
WWE Champion, then tonight, you can allow me to spell it out quite clearly -
Benoit, your reign is over. And mine is only just beginning. While all that
crap with the nWo went on, I was happy to sit back, and watch it blow over,
while you juggled the belt back and forth with them, but now it's my turn to
get back to the top. When all and said and done at Unforgiven, I will be once
again standing tall at the top of this company, at the top of this business,
and you will be little more than just a forgotten memory. Benoit, I...

(Triple H is interrupted by the music of co-commissioner Terry Funk.)

Terry Funk:
Now, I hate to come out here and quit you rambling like you're doing, but you
see, I've got a little something that I need to say. Triple H, yes, you're the
number 1 contender, and there's a great chance that you could become the WWE
Champion at Unforgiven. But it seems to me as though someone else is being
overlooked.

So, you mentioned Shane McMahon making a match here tonight, a handicap match,
well's that just fine, but you see I can make matches around here too, which is
why I've booked a damn Hardcore match between myself and Shane McMahon, which
will take place at Unforgiven!

Triple H:
Is that what you came out here to say, Funk? Is that it? Terry, you're the
co-commissioner, you can get any promo spot you want. But what the hell makes
you think that you can cut into mine? Go have your feud with Shane McMahon on
somebody else's time. Cut Austin out of the show, cut The Rock out, cut the
Cruiserweight's out, but don't you dare cut out me with your irrelevant crap.

Terry Funk:
Well, maybe I should just fire your ass, so you don't get any more promo time
at all, Triple H. What I came out here to say is relevant to you, because it
concerns your title shot at Unforgiven. You see, Triple H, there is someone
being overlooked, and that is the man stood right behind you - Ric Flair! Now
I know me and Flair are far from being the best of friends, but that man right
there pinned the World Champion last Monday on Raw.

Triple H:
So what are you saying, Funk? You want me to give Flair a title shot the night
after I win the belt? That's fine with me, Funk. Ric, you'll lay down for me
on Raw after Unforgiven, right?

Ric Flair:
You're the champ, Triple H. It would be an honour!

Terry Funk:
Oh, I wish it were all that simple, Triple H. You see, it would be far too
easy to let you get away with that, so what I went and did was make a little
change to the main event at Unforgiven. You see, it's no longer Chris Benoit
versus Triple H for the WWE Championship at the Pay Per View, it's now Chris
Benoit versus Triple H versus Ric Flair in a triple threat match!

And Flair, if you even think of laying down for Triple H in that match, so that
Benoit is cost the title, then not only will your ass be fired, but Triple H
will be stripped of the gold, and banned from ever getting another title shot
for any belt in any organisation in the world!

So I hope you boys enjoy working together against Chris Benoit tonight, because
at Unforgiven, it's gonna be every man for himself, for the sake of both your
careers.
