(As Raw comes on the air, Stone Cold Steve Austin makes his way down to the
ring and grabs a mic.)

Stone Cold:
Right here tonight, Chris Benoit and I are going to be partners, when we team
up to face Evolution.  But though we may be partners here tonight, it's no
secret how much I strive to be the WWE Champion, and I damn sure guarantee
that when Backlash is all said and done this Sunday night, I'm gonna be the
WWE Champion.

Now I have a lot of respect for Chris Benoit, and I appreciate how hard he
worked to get to where he is, but I can tell you this, however hard he works,
I'm going to work harder, and better to prove that I deserve that title.  On
Sunday night, you're fixin' to see Stone Cold do whatever it takes to bring
home the gold, and that's the b..

(Chris Benoit's music hit, and the champion comes to the ring.)

Chris Benoit:
Steve, I have a lot of respect for you as a wrestler, and this Sunday, I can't
wait to step into the ring with you as my opponent.  But there's one thing I
can tell you won't happen - you will not take this title away from me.  Austin,
you may be one tough son of a bitch, but you're not as tough as me.  You may
be a great wrestler, but you're not as great as me.  And on Sunday, well, I'd
tell you to prove me wrong, but I know that you simply can't.

(Benoit drops the mic, as a smile creeps across Austin's face.)

Stone Cold:
First of all, I've got a lot of respect for you Chris Benoit, but don't you
ever interrupt me again.  And second of all...

(Austin drops the mic, and nails the champ with a Stunner.  Afterwards, he
salutes the crowd and goes to the back, leaving a seething Benoit in the ring.)
