(As Raw comes on the air, a triumphant Shane McMahon makes his way down to the
ring and grabs a mic.)

Shane McMahon:
Last night finally saw the end of the nWo. No longer will we hear that name
blackening our hearts, or that music deafening our ears. The nWo is over, and
it is not coming back.

But what do we do with those wrestlers who adorned those black and white shirts
since October of last year? Well as far as I'm concerned, those that jumped
ship before the end, they made the right choice, and I'm not gonna hold a thing
against them. But those that were nWo 'till the end, you've got three choices.
Your first choice is to walk away from WWE forever. Your second choice is to
accept a two-month suspension from this company. And your third choice, you
can continue to wrestle as normal, but you will banned from competing for any
Championship belt for the next six months.

I can tell you now that I've had contact with the representatives of X-Pac,
Brock Lesnar, and Hollywood Hogan, none of whom are here tonight. X-Pac has
taken the first choice, and he no longer works for this company. Brock has
opted for the two month suspension option, and he's free to return to the ring
any time after Judgment Day. Hollywood Hogan, who is still recovering from
injury, has chosen the six month option, and when he returns, he will not be
able to compete for any titles until after Unforgiven of this year.

As for the rest of the former nWo members, that being Big Show, the Outsiders,
Scott Steiner, Jamie Noble, Marty Jannetty and Ted DiBiase, I expect to hear
your answers by the end of the night.

But let's move away from the nWo now, to a more important matter, that being
our next Pay Per View event, Backlash. At Backlash, Chris Benoit, who is STILL
WWE Champion, will defend his title against the number 1 contender. And to
determine who that number 1 contender is, I have selected 8 names who will take
part in a single elimination tournament, which will begin tonight, in just a
few moments. Tonight we will see the first round and semi final matches, with
the final taking place on Smackdown this Thursday, where I will personally be
the guest referee.

The eight men taking part are Triple H, Edge, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rhyno,
Bret Hart, Kane, Chris Jericho and the man they call Vader. And it all begins
right...about...now...

(The music of Triple H kicks in, as Shane O Mac leaves the ring.)
