(As Raw comes on the air, the WWE Champion Chris Benoit makes his way down to
ringside and grabs a mic.)

Chris Benoit:
You know, tonight, I've got a very important match against Brock Lesnar and
Hollywood Hogan, but I'm not out here to talk about that. I've got something
to say to a guy who proved himself last week on Smackdown, so Edge, why don't
you come on out here.

(Edge's music hits, and he makes his way to the ring.)

Chris Benoit:
Now Edge, I wanna tell you how much I respect you for your performance last
Thursday night. And as far as I'm concerned, based on the fact that you were
able to pin Brock Lesnar in that match, you deserve a spot in the title match
at the Royal Rumble, so I propose we make it a four corners match, with you
added into the equation.

Edge:
You know something Chris, it means a lot to me hearing you offer that, but I
am going to have to politely decline. You see, I've already entered myself
into the Royal Rumble match this Sunday night, and I have every intention of
winning that match, and earning myself a title shot at the grandest stage of
them all, Wrestlemania. So thank you for the offer Chris, but like I said,
I have other plans. But one thing is for certain, when I win the Royal Rumble,
I sure as hell hope that the champion I face at Wrestlemania is you.

Chris Benoit:
Well I appreciate that Edge, and you know, should by some fluke, you not win
the Rumble, Shane O Mac is going to be back in power come next Monday, so if
you want a title shot at any time, it can be made to happen, and I'm damn sure
love to defend my belt against you.

Now, as far as...

(The music of Brock Lesnar kicks in, and he makes his way out onto the ramp.)

Brock Lesnar:
I hate to interrupt this little love-in, but I figured I better come out here
and remind you that neither one of you is female, yet you're both acting that
way. Your words are pointless anyway, because in a weeks time, the WWE World
Champion is going to be me or Hollywood Hogan, and Edge, you're not going to
be the No 1 contender, because the nWo has its best guys in the Rumble, and
you're on top of their hitlist. And as for your pathetic little Shane O Mac
idea, forget it, because he's not gonna be back any time soon. Hell, I would
not be surprised if he didn't even turn up at the Rumble.

But you know what, I didn't come out here to talk, I came out here to send a
couple of messages. The first one is to you Benoit, and that's to get your
ass out of the ring, and start preparing for our match tonight, which by the
way is now a no DQ, no count-out match. And the second message is to you Edge.
You wanna be a star? You wanna make a name for yourself? Well that's great,
because here's your chance. We've set up a handicap match for you tonight
Edge, against some hand-picked opponents.

Edge:
Oh really? Well send them on out.

Brock Lesnar:
Not so fast Edge, you see, we didn't pick nWo guys to fight you, we picked
people that wanted a spot in the Rumble so bad that they would do anything
for it. And you know what, there were three guys that were prepared to take
on this handicap match. But you know something, the nWo decided that to have
you face a 3 on 1 handicap match just wouldn't be fair. So we talked it over,
and made the decision that it would be a 4 on 1 handicap match instead, so
good luck, and oh, your match is right now.

(Brock Lesnar drops the mic and waves out four WWE superstars - Batista, Matt
Hardy, William Regal and Edge's brother Christian.)
