(As Smackdown comes on the air, Chris Benoit makes his way down to ringside
and grabs a mic.)

Chris Benoit:
You know, I really didn't enjoy ending my first full day as WWE Champion by
losing a tag match to Brock Lesnar and Hollywood Hogan.  Although I found out
that I could, to an extent, trust Goldberg, it didn't stop me from getting
pinned on what should have been a night of celebration for me.  But I'm not
gonna let that bother me, because I discovered something that made me very
happy indeed, and it relates to this title belt right here.  You see...

(Hollywood Hogan's music kicks in, as the leader of the nWo makes his way out
onto the ramp.)

Hollywood Hogan:
Something made you happy Benoit?  You, the silent-but-violent crippler got a
smile on your toothless face?  Well brutha, prepare to have it wiped clean
away, because I've got a little something to say myself.  Last Monday, I made
a match for the Royal Rumble between you and me, for that WWE title.  The 
reason why I made that match was because I was the last man to pin your damn
shoulders to the mat for a 3-count.

Well, as of last Monday, I no longer hold that accolade, Brock Lesnar does.  So
I got to thinking, and I decided that Brock Lesnar deserves a shot at the 
title, just as much as I do.  So as of right now, it's no longer going to be
Chris Benoit vs Hulk Hogan at the Royal Rumble.  It's going to be Chris Benoit
versus Brock Lesnar....versus Hulk Hogan.  That's right brother, a triple 
threat match.  One fall, one champion.  And there's not a damn thing you can
do about it Benoit.  Not one damn thing!

Chris Benoit:
Well, Hollywood Hulk Hogan, I beg to differ.  You see, before you so rudely
interrupted me, I was gonna tell everybody exactly what it was that made me
so happy.  It was my discovery, through Vince McMahon, that holding this belt
gives me just as much stroke around here as the nWo has.  Perhaps even more.

So you want your triple threat match at the Rumble?  That's fine.  But, you
see, I want a little something extra added to that match.  So what I have done
tonight, is sign myself a match against the nWo member of my choosing.  And if
I win that match, then I get to add any stipulations I want to the WWE title
match at the Rumble, and none of those stipulations can be overruled by you,
or any other member of the nWo.

Oh, and just so you know, the nWo member that I have chosen is....X-Pac.  So
right here tonight, in a non-title match, I'm gonna beat X-Pac, and then I'm
gonna do something that will change the fortunes of the nWo forever.
