(Chris Jericho makes his way down to the ring for the Highlight Reel.)

Chris Jericho:
You know, I never had any doubt in mind that I could defeat Roddy Piper, and 
that is exactly what I did.  And another man who believed in himself and got
the job done is my guest at this time, the new WWE Champion, The Rock!

(The Rock makes his way down to the ring, carrying the WWE Title over his
shoulder.)

Chris Jericho:
Rock, welcome to the Highlight Reel.  My first question is Rock, what right do
you have to carry that title when you never pinned the real champion, Jeff
Jarrett?

The Rock:
Ha, that's cute Jericho, real cute.  You wanna know what right The Rock has to
carry this belt?  The Rock has the right that he earned after going through
nine months of crap this year.  Problems with Ted DiBiase and Ric Flair were
making the Rock feel worthless, they were making The Rock feel like he could
not electrify the people any more.  In the Elimination Chamber, The Rock was
able to regain the old magic, lay the smack down on alllllll their candy asses
and leave the WWE Champion.

Chris Jericho:
That's great Rock, but again, you said that you layed the smack down on all
their candy asses, but that's a lie, because you did not, at any point, fight
the Undertaker, and you certainly did not fight Jeff Jarrett, the man who was
able to pin you just prior to the Elimination Chamber match up.  But do you
plan on giving either men a shot at the gold, oh I bet you don't.

The Rock:
Then it's a good job you're not a betting man Jericho, or else you'd be broke.
If anybody, and The Rock means anybody wants a shot at this title, all they
have to do is ask, and they shall receive.  Whether it's Jeff Jarrett, the
Undertaker, you, Stone Cold, Triple H, the Big Sh...

Chris Jericho:
Let me just stop you there a second Rock.  I could have a shot at that title
simply by asking?  Well in that case Rock, screw Jeff Jarrett and screw the
Undertaker, I want the first crack at that title at No Mercy.  What do you say
champ?

The Rock:
Jericho, The Rock says...

(Rock is cut off by the music of Shane McMahon.)

Shane McMahon:
Hold on one second here.  I hate to interrupt, and Rock, I appreciate that you
want to be the most fighting champion of all time, but you see, I already have
something a little planned with regards to the number 1 contender for No Mercy.

This Thursday night on Smackdown, I have hand picked eight WWE superstars who
will enter a one night, single elimination tournament.  The winner of that
tournament will go on to challenge The Rock for the WWE Championship at No
Mercy.  And just so you know Jericho, and just so you don't come crying to me
about being in the tournament, I'll let you know that you are already in there.

Chris Jericho:
You're damn right I am Shane.  And Rock, let me assure you right now, that I
will be facing you at No Mercy.

The Rock:
Well The Rock wishes you luck, but just one thing, I hope that you can still
win the tournament when you're not at 100% fitness...

(Rock drops the mic and hits the Rock Bottom on Jericho.  The music of the
champ hits, as he salutes the fans.)
