(As Raw comes on the air, Chris Jericho makes his way down to ringside, as we
get Raw started with the Highlight Reel.)

Chris Jericho:
You know, I haven't some big planned intro tonight, because there's one piece
of information that I want, and I want it right now, so please welcome my guest
on the Highlight Reel, the Intercontinental Champion, Chris Benoit!

(Benoit's music hits, and he makes his way down to ringside, without Paul 
Heyman at his side.)

Chris Jericho:
So come on Benoit, give me the good news.

Chris Benoit:
Jericho, as far as Summerslam is concerned, you're in the match.  But in order
to get this done, there had to be a few changes made.

Chris Jericho:
What sort of changes Chris?

Chris Benoit:
Well first of all, the WWE won't sanction a 2/3 falls triple threat match at
Summerslam.  So instead, the match will simply be a triangle elimination match.
But in order to get the match signed, I had to agree to have the originally
planned match for Summerslam, against Val Venis with 2/3 falls rules, right
here tonight on Raw.

Chris Jericho:
Well that's great news, for me anyway.  And for you, because even if you lose
the belt tonight, which you won't, you'll get a rematch at Summerslam anyway.
And an even bigger plus is that I get my title shot!

Chris Benoit:
I'm glad you're satisfied Jericho, but I'm issuing you a warning.  I'm having
to fight this match tonight just so that you can get what you want.  If I am
not the Intercontinental Champion when this night is over, then I am holding
you personally responsible.  With that said, I will then proceed to ensure that
you don't even make it to Summerslam.  You got that Jericho?

Chris Jericho:
Oh, I don't think you've got anything to worry about Benoit.  I mean, it's not
liking defeating Val Venis is difficult, I did it on Smackdown, after all.  But
you know what, I suggest you hold off your threats until Summerslam Benoit, for
it's at Summerslam when you WILL lose the Intercontinental Title, and it's at
Summerslam that I WILL be personally responsible for it.
