(Chris Jericho makes his way down to the ring for the Highlight Reel.)

Chris Jericho:
Please, please people, spare me your applause.  After all, I am the man that
killed Hulkamania once and for all.  

You know, on second thoughts give me all of your applause, for I deserve it and
much, much more.  

(The crowd continue to boo Jericho.)

Enough, for it is time for the Highlight Reel.  And my guest tonight is a 
former Intercontinental Champion, making his return to the WWE tonight.  Ladies
and Gentlemen, I give you...Val Venis!

(Venis makes his way down to the ring to a fair pop from the fans.)

Chris Jericho:
Now Val, it was just a few short months ago that you lost the Intercontinental
title to Chris Benoit in a gruelling ladder match.  Following that defeat, you
tucked your tail between your legs, and ran away like a little girl.  What has
made you decide to crawl up out from the rock you were under, and return to the
WWE.

Val Venis:
Well Chris, not that I really like what you're saying, the thing that made me
come back was the one thing that made me leave in the first place, and that is
the Intercontinental Championship.  Since I left, I've seen Chris Benoit mow
down challenger after challenger, but all the while, I knew that I was more
than capable of defeating him for that belt, after having done it on more than
one occasion.  

So in the end, I decided that I would follow the example of the Undertaker, by
coming back and taking the title that is rightfully mine.  Chris Benoit...

Chris Jericho:
No, I'm Chris Jericho.

Val Venis:
I wasn't addressing you.  Chris Benoit, the instant that you've found the guts,
all you gotta do is name a date, because I'm coming for that belt, and I intend
to get it back.

Chris Jericho:
Well it's interesting that you should mention Chris Benoit, because it just so
happens that I spoke to him earlier today, and told him that you were coming
back.  Now he isn't here tonight, but he left me a very special video message.

(The Titantron starts to show the message from Benoit.)

Chris Benoit:
So Val Venis, you're back.  And I suppose that you'll be wanting a shot at my
Intercontinental Title.  Well that's fine by me.  How does Summerslam sound to
you?  Oh, and just to prove that my beating you was no fluke, how about we
make this a 2 out of 3 falls match.  I'm sure that you're stood there smiling
right now Venis, so I'll take that as an acceptance of my challenge.  But I've
also got one other message for you, which I'd like Chris Jericho to pass on,
so Chris, if you'd do the honours...

(The video cuts out, and Venis turns around, only to be clocked in the head
with a steel chair by Jericho.  Jericho walks away from the ring with a big
smile on his face.)
