(Bret Hart's music hits, and he makes his way down to the ring along with Paul
Heyman, grabbing a mic from ringside.)

Bret Hart:
You know, personally I never thought I'd be stood in a ring alongside Paul
Heyman, but recently it seems as though events have conspired to force the
two of us together.

For weeks and weeks, I bested Stone Cold Steve Austin, both in my speciality
matches and his. However, despite these big wins, I was constantly left out
of the running when it came to consideration for title shots. I saw what Paul
Heyman did for Chris Benoit, and I decided that I wanted that too, so I thought
about making a call, but I chose not to.

You see the reason for that was that Stone Cold wanted another piece of me, so
I figured I'd beat him again, and this time everyone would take notice of me,
and I'd get the title shot I deserved. Now, Austin beat me at Bad Blood, so
I could accept the fact of being overlooked for the belt. With that win, Stone
Cold earned my respect. So much so, that I asked him to be my tag team partner
to face La Resistance just a few weeks ago.

Austin agreed to be my partner, but when the time came, he didn't show up in
the building, and right there he lost my respect. Sure, The Rock filled in,
but that ego maniac would do another to get his face on television. So right
after that tag match, I made a choice, a choice that would get me the chances
I deserved, and the respect of anybody I wanted. I called Paul Heyman, and I
asked him to represent me. So from now on, when you see Bret Hart, you'll see
Paul Heyman alongside him, and you will respect the both of us. And if you
don't, well then you clearly do not matter anyway.

And speaking of guys who don't matter, we might as well bring out the Hurricane
so that I give him, and all of you people, a taste of what's to come for Bret
Hart.
