William Regal:
It is with regret that I inform you of a difficult decision I have had to make.
As of right now, Bret 'Hitman' Hart is no longer the WWE Champion.  The injury
that he suffered on Smackdown will keep him out of action longer than the
mandatory 30 days in which a title must be defended.  Not only that, but the
injury would also have caused him to miss Wrestlemania.

As it truly wouldn't be Wrestlemania without a championship match, I have made
the decision to hold a 16-Man invitational tournament, right here tonight on
Raw.  The winner of that tournament will go on to Wrestlemania, where he will
face the Ultimate Warrior, or should the Warrior win the tournament, whomever
the Number 1 contender is at the time.

Ladies and Gentlemen, tonight, a new WWE Champion WILL be crowned.  All that's
left to say is, may the best man win!
