(As Smackdown comes on the air, Chris Jericho makes his way down to the ring.)

Chris Jericho:
Well it seems as if the odds are in my favour tonight.  After having beaten
Bret Hart, by submission, on Raw, I now get the chance to challenge for the
most slippery belt in WWE right now, the World Title.  All the previous holders
of that belt have been unable to make a successful defence as of yet, so
right here, I intend to keep that tradition alive, by defeating Bret Hart
right in the middle of this very ring.

But not only will I keep the tradition alive, once I have the belt, I will also
kill it, because there is no way that I would let anybody take the title away
from me, especially not that raving lunatic, the Ultimate Warrior.  I intend
to be the fightingest champion that there is, was and ever will be, something
that you could only ever dream about Bret Hart.

Right here tonight, the ultimate thrillseeker will face the excellence of
execution, and only I will emerge victorious as the winner, and the new WWE
World Champion, while you Bret will never...eeeeeever be the same again!
