(As Smackdown comes on the air, Stone Cold makes his way down to the ring and
grabs a microphone.)

Stone Cold:
Last Monday Night, I ended the losing streak I was on by pinning Bret Hart.
Ever since then, I've had to deal with people saying 'oh, it was just a tag
match', you're still on a losing streak with singles matches.

Well it makes me sick, so what I'm gonna do is put an end to that right here
tonight.  Bret Hart, I have a hell of a lot of respect for you, and I think
that the feeling is mutual.  But right here tonight, just a few days before
I win the Royal Rumble, I wanna face you in a 1 on 1 match.

If you wanna see Stone Cold Steve Austin go 1 on 1 with Bret Hart, gimme a hell
yeah!

Crowd:
HELL YEAH!

Stone Cold:
Oh hell yeah!  So Bret, why don't you bring your ass out here, and answer my
challenge.

(Bret Hart appears on the Oval Tron.)

Bret Hart:
You know Stone Cold, I was never one to back down from a challenge, and I can
safely say right now, that you've got your match tonight.  But let me tell you
something, I do have a lot of respect for you, but that respect isn't gonna
stop me from kicking your ass here tonight, and this Sunday at the Royal
Rumble too.

Steve Austin, tonight it will be my honour to wrestle you.  But don't think 
that you're gonna come away with the win, because you've never pinned me or
made me submit in a singles match before, so don't even think that you're
gonna do it tonight.

Stone Cold:
Well, I beg to differ with you Bret, but you know what, I ain't gonna waste my
breath telling you about it.  Just go and lace up your little boots, and then
get down here to have your ass kicked, and that's the bottom line 'cos Stone
Cold said so!
